New Zed owner!

Post by GreySquirrel » Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:11 pm

As a long-time lurker on the site, I took the plunge and recently picked up my Maldives Blue 2.2SE, and I'm loving it so far! There are a few small jobs to do to get it perfect, but it's only done 72k and is fantastic to drive! It makes a great sound as well! Compared to my diesel Audi it does appear to have a bit of a drinking problem though... Here it is on the first of hopefully many trips across Dartmoor. Any other members in Devon?

Great looking car, you’ve joined the 2.2 club  I’m in the Newton Abbot/Torquay area and there is an event at Re fuel, Cullompton on Sunday 15th October if you are interested. Starting at 9am to 11am for breakfast and then a drive around the area. You will be most welcome.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Welcome aboard the Forum from me in South Wales, if its drinking fuel give it a good scan with a diagnostic scanner and have a look at fuel trims if they are high give ther car a good looking over for any air leaks in the cars intake and vaccum system boots and hoses/pipes. Air leaks will cause the car to think its running lean and it will increase fuel injection to richen the mxture. It will continue trying to solve the lean mixture it thinks it has untill it adds 20% mor fuel, gives up and sets the EML on the dash to draw attention to it.
If you havn't got a code reader I can reccomend a Creator 310+ for circa £50 on ebay and Amazon.
