It is difficult to explain to Europeans who drive on the correct side, that anyone would voluntarely use their left hand to use a gear lever instead of using their much more accurate right hand. So I am sure they have all had to sit in the car over the years trying to doing something as awkward as that

Add to that why they needed a wireloom to extend the cables by another meter to the other side of the engine and why the brake pedal have 3 additional meters of pipework attached. Just so they could sit on the other side of a horse ....
