Reset steering.

Post by flybobbie » Mon Jan 08, 2024 8:17 pm

Something been bothering me for a long time, the fact i have to turn steering wheel it seems more right to turn right than left.
So from centre it gets heavy say from 1 inch left but 2 inches right.

In past through Foxwell i used the reset steering, basic says put wheel near neutral and set.
But still off, car tracks straight hands off.

So yesterday i deliberately reset with the steering wheel slightly turned left, now feels much better.
Still runs straight hands off.

Just thought might be of interest if anyone else had similar problem.

Well having done that it feels like it's coming back, i wonder if the steering is learning something.
Just annoying it needs more right tug than left.
Me wonders if it's just the weight of me on the right side of the car.
Weirdest steering of any car i have owned.
I have in past fell out of love with the car over the steering.

Camber of the road affects steering…as well as geometry variations especially toe in..asymmetrical toe settings have a similar effect..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is
