To have it replaced do I have you take the bumper off? Cheers

Headlight washer spray gone...

Post by Mr Tidy » Thu Jan 11, 2024 9:41 pm

It might have been pulled out but it's not unusual for the jet to make a bid for freedom! Or the covers fly off. There have been a few members reporting both those issues recently. That's why once I got mine fixed after getting the car I took Fuse 40 out to stop them operating. :)

Ross at RBM took the front section of the wheelarch liner out to swap mine rather than have to remove the bumper. That avoids the issue of the bumper side clips snapping like they often do as well as any paint damage to the bumper.
Coupes because stunning!

You will have just lost the nozzle, the pump body will still be in there. A safer option may be to to remove the pumps and hoses and seal up the reservoir, then the system won’t ever activate or leak.

Thanks, so at the mean time I will just need to source the cover, I should able to put it back on with someone helps to activate it.

No, the cover attaches to the top of the nozzle, but you have lost the nozzle. If you don’t replace the pump (you can’t buy just the nozzle), you would have to glue the cover to the bumper.

You can use Carly to program the headlight washer out as well. A lazy way instead of pulling the fuse

Yes that's what I am thinking of I need the whole thing, I seen someone else figure out it is actually using a Volvo shares part which is cheaper?

There is a "D" clip that is attached to the top of the washer jet in Zedebees' photo that the cover clips onto.

You can't but just the clip from BMW, it only comes as part of the complete assembly but since you need it all plus the cover (that is a separate part) you'll have one anyway.

IIRC there is a Volvo option for just the "D" clip, or I think someone on here has 3D printed some.
