Roof Rack / Bike Rack

Post by MarshMA10 » Tue Jan 23, 2024 3:23 pm

Hi all

I do a fair bit of racing in triathlons and to that end, need to find a way to transport a bicycle.................

Has anyone used their e89 for this? I would like to understand what the range of products available are. I am tempted by the Sea Sucker style mounts, but never used one before + I don't know if a 700c wheel would even go in the boot of an e89! The second problem is you can only transport one bike like this. It would be ideal to transport two.

Does anyone have / use any other style of bike carrier?

(I do have another car I can use if needs be, but just prefer using the Z!)

Use the other car mate
That should be reported to the police for z4 abuse , anyone driving with the roof up should get 6 points on their licence…. That’s more like 6 years in prison with that on top :poke:

Yeah...an F31 estate! I don't have a bike, but of I did I have a suitable car for it!

Just don't press the roof button by mistake with that shite on there.....a whole world of pain and expense will present itself.

That is not only a first, but seriously not recommended (even by me)!

Being roasted on the forum is an absolute direct guarantee I will buy one of these roofracks and fit it every time I come to any meet. You are bringing this on yourselves.

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

The biggest offender is the hideous whippy aerial. :fuelfire:

OP, have you checked boot-mounted bike racks ?

Glad mine has a stubby one. I've been told off for that too though :P

I haven't: are there any recommended ones.........? I certainly would not want to damage the bodywork (only my reputation on the forum) with something that cantilevers off of a panel

Sadly no. I only see weekend warriors driving to and from Mount Tam ... you know, the birthplace of the mountain bike.

But if you're concerned about damaging the AY painting, oh dear, the damage to the car is already done. :poke:
