Mine are squeaking like a rusty gate

Have tried windscreen polish to give everything a thorough clean

It could be the windscreen which I assume is original so 11 years old

But for now i will try new wipers

Any recommendations?

Have you tried cleaning the wiper blades with a mixture of washing up liquid and turps?
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

OEM aka BMW is the best wiper by far..and no its not a Bosch in a BMW box..but yes its expensive..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

I bought Bosch wipers, very happy with them  Although they do squeak at the resting spot, I think it's because they need adjustment.

I recently swapped out a set of Bosch wipers because they were juddering across the screen so much. Tried a pair of Halfords Flat Wiper Blades R51 & R45 (20" & 18"), the aero type blades. So far they've been brilliant, so I would recommend those

E85 blades are different sourced to E89s …

ie the best E85 versions are not the best for E89s..FWIW

Tried Bosch not a patch on the BMW supplied variant..

Yet to find any decent after market blades. Tried Bosch, Halfords, tried cheap shop. My car has aftermarket glass, BMW branded though after some Chinese rubbish. But the way blades wipe not a patch on the Berlingo glass and blades on my other vehicle.

BMW wipers are Bosch wipers in a BMW box..... You can get a pair for around the £20 mark from an autofactor.
