Since this happens regularly, I have developed a solution to resolder it with a heat gun. After several tests on "offline" windows it's now possible to resolder these connectors with about 480-500°C using a 5 mm nozzle on a temperature controlled(!) heat gun.

The only prerequisite is, that the rear shell is dismantled and lying reverse on a table.

Oooo interesting, I like that, except my connection tab has broken off the piece that broke off :headbang:

Anyway, moving on, on further inspection yesterday I noticed that the 'new' shell has not only some scratches (extra to when I first saw it) but also a small dent, so the whole panel will now have to be prep'd and resprayed. Going to see the bodyshop today and see whether it'll be more viable to have that done, along with spraying my replacement bumper, or try to get a window company (someone like Autoglass, not SafeStyle  ) to swap the glass sections over. The new bumper will still be going to the shop anyway but no point in creating more work than is needed.

Alas, no I don't, but I've just doctored your photo to show it. It's broken along where the blue line is. The broken part is still in the plug end.

S.hit.
That was broken, when you tried to remove the shell with the connected wire. Well, I know this pitfall.

But you could take a standard connector (in German we say "Steckerzunge" or "Flachzunge", connector tongue or flat tongue) to solder onto the glass. Might be less work than pimping and replacing the complete shell.

Roof blown off!!!!

Well the day finally arrived and my local windscreen fitter arrived to swap the rear screens over.
The issue may have been to get the replacement out of the shell without cracking it, but it all went well, so I'm pleased with that
Alas I wasn't there so my wife was taking photos of the guys doing their stuff and sending them to me

Just got to hope that all of the wires work now, will, hopefully, find out tomorrow morning on the way to work.
