Bodyshell protection

Some of you will be aware I purchased a 2023 M40i last week, I’ve been having a look at the build sheet and while I have a good idea of what is in the shadow line plus, comfort and technology packs, it also showing option 9AA bodyshell protection
Could anyone tell me exactly what that is? Is it ceramic coat or other paint protection system.
This may be a good question for Scubaregs .

Option 9AA EXTERNAL SKIN PROTECTION is a film (usually white) covering the horizontal surfaces of the paint during shipping to prevent paint staining during shipping. It is removed by the dealer upon arrival at the dealership during prep.
