Front brake pad change sensor issue

Post by nick_l » Mon Feb 05, 2024 6:40 am

I changed the front pads this weekend as was showing pad warning on dash. New pads on and new wear sensor, however it’s still showing low pads on the dash. Is there a procedure I’m missing here? I scanned and reset with Carly, and reset the interval on the car with no change. Could the sensor be to blame? It was a pagid sensor from Euro Car Parts.

Resetting the warning even with a new sensor can be problematic..I had issues wityh ISTA and Protool but my Foxwell 530 did reset it..weird..

Carly never was the best tool for BMWs.

These sensors are the most stupid pain in the azz.
Once i got new fitted and finally reset, i just left them tied back, not used.
How can a simple thing be so complicated.

Reassuring to know it’s relatively common. I may invest in the Foxwell scanner .

I may be wrong but I seem to recall they have to be reset with the handbrake off.
