Post by z4man2020 » Thu Feb 15, 2024 2:48 pm

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any experience / someone they would recommend?

My instrument cluster needs repairing.

Speedo is no longer working & LCD display is partially operational.

Thanks in advance.

bigwinn did one a while back. I think he took the chip out of the original cluster and fitted it into a replacement one.

Always happy to help if I can.

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

E85 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REPAIR

Common issue is the LCD and instrument s start malfunctioning…Remove the Binnicle and once on the Bench ..remove the rear cover.
In the bottom corner behind the LCD there is a metal connection to the PCB board….make sure this is contacting good.I have marked the contact point..it’s the little protruding piece. This is the Main Earth to the PCB Board.

Refit and hopefully all working

Well this fixed my issue which was similar to yours

Good Luck
