35i rocker cover gasket

Post by john-e89 » Tue Feb 20, 2024 5:49 pm

Anyone know if these posts have to come out to change the rocker gasket..? I think they do, issue I’m having is a 10mm socket is too thin internally to go over the post. Obvs I’ll have to get some longer sockets but was asking in case they don’t have to come out, but I’m pretty sure they do.
Ta muchly.

Splendid..can’t see a BMW AD doing that..but gets the job done

Check the cam box carefully for cracks if I may suggest…many apparent gasket leaks are in fact cracks in the cam box..

More than one way to skin a moggy…

Yep good call on a thorough inspection, hopefully just a shot gasket, it’s on 119k miles, but we’ll see 👍

Good news…I gather BMW OE part is a good choice on this occasion..
