Hi folks
I'm looking for an external blu ray player so I can rip my blu ray discs onto my NAS. I've been reading up on it and have found that I need a UHD friendly drive which makes it easier to rip 4k discs.
I also know about sometimes having to change firmware depending on the model.
Trying to figure out which ones are suitable is a nightmare....so much conflicting info.
Can anyone give me a few pointers on the best drive to buy?
Thanks

Can't help TBH but for things like this I would ring the boffins at "Richer Sounds". I have always found them extremely helpful and generally know their stuff when it comes to sound and vision technology. Not like the 'sales kids' at Currys and the like, they are useless!
This is where Chris_D would come in handy as he is an AV freak, but he seems to have left permanently.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.
F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

I have a BD player in my desktop computer and have ripping software. Think the player was about £25 to build in and the software I paid a lifetime subscription for.
