At the 11 minute mark on the video he looks into the boot. There's a boot shelf he lifts to look at the battery compartment. The normal boot mat is under the floor mats in front of it.

Anybody seen this shelf before? Looks oem but can't see it on realoem anywhere.

Would be handy to have to hide random oddments in the boot without them flying all over the place and also somewhere to put the service book.

Added a screen shot to accompany my terrible description above

Just watched it on the telly, nice colour
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

I like what this guy does and how he does it

I suppose it’s reflective of the market that this car wasn’t worth throwing cash at, and effectively sold as a clearance PX

Personally I’d have loved to get my hands on it, do the usual routine to make it great again and extend its life
If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Not sure if its OEM? Doesn't look to be that useful though, unless you have lots of stuff that is no more than 2 inches high! Service book lives at home for me with the other paperwork.

I actually bought a low profile tool box that I keep in that space which holds things like a jump starter, tyre inflator, spanners/sockets, etc. its big enough to store stuff in but low enough that I can still throw like a big bag in over the top of it and push it to the back of the boot space.

Appreciate the neatness of that solution in the video though!

It does go to show that the market for Z4s is absolutely on the floor at the moment. Great news for people like me who love a bargain though!

But its all relative isnt it. Would you throw 500 quid at a Z4 worth 2k or would you throw 500 quid at a Z4 worth 8k.
Be interesting to see where prices go when the grey dampness of a UK winter clears, they do seem to peak and trough a fair bit for convertibles.

That's exactly what I was trying (badly) to say. The cars are so cheap, and have been for so long, that there's no way a dealer would be able to make any money back by titivating all but the mintest of low mileage examples.
