My experience is full race 999 and 1293 A series - also all built from scratch - I think you wiil probably find that I do know what I’m talking about. On reflection they weren’t very complicated by today’s standards were they?


My oil level comment was based on this fact running problems don’t kill Engines in seconds but low oil levels certainly do - especially so on modern Engines - you don’t want any more grief!

A bit late to apologise but please accept my apology.
I shouldn`t have been posting anything after returning from the pub. No excuse, sorry ronk.
The car problem was nadgered valve stem oil seals, which l will probably have to live with. The oil level indicator was fine she was just burning the stuff.
