Hi all. I have an intermittent fault on my 06 2.5 . Occasional rough idle. The code reader told me 2A82 DME VANOS INTAKE.
I replaced the solenoid with a new Febi Bilstein one - still got the scars - it is the upper one, isn’t it ?
Cleared codes, all seemed good, but it stalled a couple of times. The same 2A82 code comes back. The engine runs and pulls well otherwise, no engine management light on.
I did replace both post cat lambda sensors before this, with new Bosch ones.
Any good ideas please

Indeed, and thanks.
Funny thing is, the car drives fine, no warning lights, etc. I shall drive it daily and see what it does. - also known as burying your head in the sand !

Well as you can see, if I can use the project car through April and prove it runs ok then it may still go to Spa.healeyneil wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 12:28 pm Indeed, and thanks.

I think I have solved my problem. I bought a new oil filter cap. When I removed the old cap, the centre insert, with its little O ring, was completely missing. With the new cap fitted, after a couple of spirited drives, I have no codes thrown up.
I’m fairly sure this bit has been missing from the oil filter housing for 5 years though, so who knows.
Anyway, right now I’m a happy bunny
