There we go. Fixed that. Heard it SO many times! Still don't think it's ever been true TBH. :)
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Right that's the ignore button used for the first time. Heresy, that what that is!

True though…. :P

Nah I mean there must be something good about them given how folk rave about them and I’ve only ever driven one, a Carrara 4s I think it was, a friend lent it me when she went on hols, I put some fuel in it, got all excited, drove it about 15miles before turning round, parked it up and never went near the thing again… Steering was amazing, pin sharp, but the rest… :o it had rebar for shockers, stupid stiff, gutless engine, no torque, drab interior and a solid roof…shite… :driving:

1 car for half an hour….gives me full permission for a complete 911 review…

I can’t get the seats right in a boxster or cayman due to them not having space behind the seats. They are fine cars, I get them as loaners when my 911 goes in for a service, but they are not a 911.
Current:
911-50 Black - unique spec
X5M - 575 hp of fun in a V8
Abarth 595 Comp.
Golf Clipper - collectors item
Z4 3.0si Black Sapphire
VW ID.3

Previous:
Z4M Silver Grey - non flimper spec (gone to Bing)
Z4 3.0 Toledo

john-e89 wrote: Sun Apr 14, 2024 6:14 pm Personally I wouldn’t be doing anything right now, sit and see how prices fare this summer as I’m not sure these GT4 Spyders are selling, I’m pretty sure one of the first ones to become available still isn’t sold, wether that’s the state and uncertainty of the country right now, or folk are simply not willing to line someone else’s pocket to that extent for a very breathed upon Boxster when that kind of money will get you some pretty tasty metal elsewhere. I’m probably 99.9% wrong but I reckon the Spyder will drop to £150-170k by winter so around the build price plus £10-20k on top.
i think this is pretty much on the money, bare in mind my target was a 40th birthday present ( my bday is mid october ), its definitely going to happen its just a case of when really, and ill enjoy the journey of finding the right car, it will be interesting to see where these drop too but dealer thinks its another 15k to drop yet which sounds GREAT.

Agreed, for the small amount its worth i may as well keep it and just add to collection. i also like what another person said somewhere in this thread and wait to something REALLY unique comes up from the PTS range, theirs some insane colours available, ruby star was made available as one of the free colours and no longer PTS so its not unique.

Hi Byron,
How's things?
Read this whole thread, and I like the video from Luke you posted.
My all time favourite Porsche I've ever driven is the 991.1,circa 2015/2016.
That would be my choice.
But the Cayman gt4rs is something special too, although by that and other videos,it is meant to be loud and annoying inside, especially on longer journeys/use.
I'd love a 911 Gt3 rs of that era....or Paul's/Pvrs lovely 911-50 edition 😁

If only used as a weekend toy in amongst the rest of your cars, then why not.
If it makes you happy,go for it mate
As you say, life's too short, especially with everything you have been through.

I'd agree with John e89 though,not in "Pink"(ruby star).
I think the proper Red is nice although you said you're not a fan....for me the Blue is a cracker/though not the potential Rent a Racer one you mentioned. That put me off too.

If you can keep the Z4m Even better.....go for it re the gt4

hi craig, with the VAT return i can keep the z4m     the VAT saved on this equals MORE than the value of the z4m or definitely equal to it.

i'm just waiting for the right car now, the only ones i like so far are rubystar, none of the other cars for sale float my boat all, BUT i haven't seen a ruby in the metal yet, the dealer is getting one over to my shop a week saturday so ill get to see it and really take it in. IDEALLY id like a really special and different PTS colour but no orange or green, i'm way passed that.

ANOTHER option would be a 600LT, this was also a top contender and its cheaper than any Gt4RS on sale right now , only problem with these is i work on these all the time and they literally fall to bits and the paint is often falling off and i mean literally falling off on the corners ( genuinely, lol). The Quality of these is genuinely worse than our nearly 20 year old z4s. But ive got the contacts, equipment and patience to put any lil issues right. i really like this one ;

That's great news you can keep the Z4m,as it's truly a special car. Maybe one day the stars will align,so to speak, and I can get to see it in the flesh, and your good self, now that your chemo is done.
I'm so so, not great tbh,but hey ho. Nothing as bad as what you had to go through mate.

I really like the McLaren's,and that one in your link looks great.
But as you say,the paint on them isn't great, and they appear to suffer from various electrical issues and such like. A mate if mine owns a company who makes after market parts for these,as well as Audi's,R8s,etc and Various other sports cars....
And he's friends with a few guys through his business, who owns McLaren's and one or two of them got rid of their cars as it was constantly in being repaired due to faults.
Not a great advert for them, tbh.

Byron,

Take the 600LT, it is genuinely something special where as the Gt4 is a Porsche and maybe special with the brand but its not as special as the 600lt IMHO.

They may not be great paint wise but its not like it will be a daily driven on a 60mph commute and I am pretty sure you can get the paint sorted.
