E85 roof repair near Bedfordshire?

Hi guys
A few years ago some scum cut through my roof to steal my coat.
After only having the car for 2 weeks I became sincerely disheartened and just stuck the car in my garage and rarely used it.
Ive finally got round to sorting it out, I've swapped the roof for a new one, swapped the motor over to the new roof and its all connected up.
I've relocated the roof motor to the boot too.
The roof unlatches when I press the button, the motor whirs away but the roof does not go down, I've put the roof up and down manually to try and get air bubbles out, I've held the roof button down to try and push the fluid all the way through the lines but still I have nothing.
Is there any gurus local to me or near ?

Enuff_zed suggests looking at the following:

Check the bypass valve isn’t sticking

The drive pin is fitted between pump and motor

The three tiny lateral pins are fitted in the metal pump impeller.

Thanks, il check youtube and see what these items are.

I don't think it's drive pin as I didn't seperate the motor and pump.
Again with the 3 lateral pins, I didn't change anything apart from swapping the motor and pump from old roof to new roof.
Bypass valve could be a good shout, hopefully it's just that.

Hi, just home. I tried to reply myself but it kept dropping out.
So it sounds favourite to be the bypass valve.
Do note that when you move it into the boot it sometimes causes the slack in the bowden cable to be taken up by its new routing, thereby applying a pull on the lever and pushing the bypass valve in.
There is a white adjuster about halfway down the length of the cable. You may need to wind that in to give a bit of slack again.

I almost missed something! As you swapped it, the lines will be full of air and when it operates the reservoir level drops. Stand the motor vertical and fill to spill with hydraulic jack oil. You may need to do that a couple of times and help the roof to move until all the air is out.

Can I just ask, does the reservoir have to be completely full? Atm I can fill it to about 85% full but there's air trapped in the top of it due to the plug/screw hole sitting below the top of the reservoir if you get what I mean?

Yeah there’s fine. You need that air gap to prevent a hydraulic lock

If possible, as a belt and braces thing, try to orientate the motor so that when it sits in the corner at an angle the pipe outlets are at the bottom. Less likely to draw any air in that way.
