Hi all

Long time lurker - i currently have an e89 but i've wanted a coupe for the longest time. I'm not the best with cars but i've finally found one i'm set on

Just wandering what people with better judgement/experience think about the following? i've got plans to view it tomorrow

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 2166650481?

Any opinions would be appreciated

MOT history is not too bad, driver's seat is perhaps a bit worn. Under the bonnet is a bit scruffy and the black roof and wheels are not to everyone's taste. However overall not a bad car but I would try to get the price down. If you have one, take a scanner with you and do a scan, you can pick up faults which you can negotiate with. The lovely N52 engine!

Feels expensive for a wrapped auto with 100k+ miles that's in "overall good condition". Missing cruise control too.

That’s been up for quite a while. Doesn’t look a nice car tbh

Fair point.

Tbh, it has a tin roof so I didn't get too involved with it.

Well Alpine White is a pretty rare colour on an E86. Only 6 Autos that colour came to the UK and only 1 had Piano Black trim and black (heated) seats based on this database a forum member compiled:- http://perso.numericable.fr/tonyz4c/index30si.html

So you won't find another, although I'm also not a fan of the black roof, wheels and rear lights.

It isn't cheap but not a silly price so good luck tomorrow.
Coupes because stunning!

It has piano black trim but also says in description aluminium trim so that needs checking . Is the roof a black wrap or paint ? Is there any damage under the wrap if it is wrapped ?? If everything looks / feels ok I think it is worth offering 6500 considering it says FSH . Take it for a drive and see how you feel . The auto box is great take it from someone that knows

There's also the non-standard black decals on the side skirts, as well as some sort of black wrap or tape (at a guess) on the bottom of the front and rear bumpers. The mirrors are black as well (and shouldn't be). I'd want to know if the cosmetic mods are hiding anything. They would put me off but if you're after a white one then you'll have to compromise. The question is whether the service history is good enough and what it would cost to make it how you want it, IMHO.

Not for me personally mainly because it’s an auto (I don’t think the ZF6 has aged all that well and I think the N52 suits a manual better having owned one auto N52 and am now in my fourth manual N52).
