Convertible Top
Hello, does anyone know the production numbers on E85 with manual convertible top? I have heard that they are fairly common. Back in the day, I had a 1972 Fiat 124 convertible with a manual convertible top, and thats one of the reasons I bought this 2004 Z4. Attached are some pictures of the handle used to lock and unlock the convertible top. And a picture of the dash showing there are no buttons for power top control.

Very rare in the UK. I recall a discussion about one on the forum a couple of years ago and most members didn’t even know the manual softtop existed. In fact they may not even have been offered in the UK at all.

Thanks for your reply, Zedebee, a pleasure, especially you being in North Hampshire. I see you have a 2003 E85. Do your gauges look the those in the pictures? With speed in MPH in larger letters on the outside of the gauge, and KPH on the inside? Was wondering if there is an export version, since the 2002-2008 E85/E86 was manufactured solely in South Carolina.

Manual roof was more common in the us but very rare in the uk. All cars were built in Spartanburg.

I've also never need a manual top but knew they existed from the manual. I suspect they weren't an option in the UK given the rarity
