Anyone ‘lost’,cruise control?
Another weird one..
I seem to have ‘lost’ cruise function sometime over the last couple of days..definitely working on Saturday…today..1,200 later no cruise..no error , no lights , nothing..not tried a code reader yet as still finishing off another NC500 trip..

Yes, it’s gone awol on my 35i for whatever reason, I thought it was because I hadn’t coded a new battery in but I’ve done that with Carly and still nothing, no error codes either, although Carly isn’t very good admittedly.

I realise it may be different in terms of operation to the E85/6, but on the off-chance it's as primitive...
When I first bought my M the Cruise wasn't working either. I also had an extremely sensitive throttle. After a bit of fault-finding, I traced it to a failed clutch switch which is in the pedal assembly. Replaced the Clutch switch and solved the throttle jumpiness, and the cruise came back too!

Guys, I'm assuming when you press the stalk nothing comes up on the dash (LED around the speedo or between the clocks)?
If you end up with no error codes then I'd suspect that it's a faulty stalk, ie; there is no "fault" with the system, the system is just not receiving the signal to activate! BUT I wouldn't recommending just changing the individual stalk though I'd change the whole stalk assembly with the wiper and indicator stalks.

I checked with the ID4Motion user group on FB…apparently it happens along with the clock losing time …AnubisZed wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 1:13 pm Guys, I'm assuming when you press the stalk nothing comes up on the dash (LED around the speedo or between the clocks)?

Today on start up cruise came back…held a steady 75 down the M74 for 30 miles no issues..
So now just got to fix the clock losing a minute or so a day and some other idrive interface bugs..
I’ll knuckle down with some detailed fault reports when I have time..

Hmmm, interesting I remember now I had this on a couple of occasions on my Chinese digital cluster where the Cruise didn't work, another good reason to have my OE cluster back inB21 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 2:02 pm I checked with the ID4Motion user group on FB…apparently it happens along with the clock losing time …

Yes you can start to realise why companies like BMW have QA depts to iron out the bugs..AnubisZed wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 3:23 pmHmmm, interesting I remember now I had this on a couple of occasions on my Chinese digital cluster where the Cruise didn't work, another good reason to have my OE cluster back inB21 wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 2:02 pm I checked with the ID4Motion user group on FB…apparently it happens along with the clock losing time …

FWIW I discovered a MMI Mr 12 Volt feature whilst on then 500…
If you are looking at the OE map screen and then press track change on the MFSW then it pops you across to the Mr 12 volt setup…not found a way to toggle back …save pressing the nav button

Sorry mate, not 'au fait' with foreign driving (but I have heard of Crianlarich - not sure where you were?) however given the paucity of polis up there (and UK in general tbh) it was probably the nearest station anyway.
