224's or 108's or other similar 18's

Post by steve69 » Mon May 06, 2024 1:18 pm

Gents....

2 of my tyres are dead, i'm going to replace all 4 with PS4's but my current 103s are toast.

Looking for a full set of 224's or 108's or any other 18s that show off the discs and calipers. I'm spending a lot on the motor lately so i'm on a super tight budget, ideally 108's in the short term they'll be cheaper.

Cheers
S

Looks as though that particular set would need a lot of work. The picture of the rim shows paint between the star and the rim. The bolt is either rounded or painted over.

TBH I wouldn't bother with cheap 108s as they'll be scabby, and will costs loads if/when you finally decide to refurb them because they need splitting for a proper job.

224s might cost a bit more but will probably always be worth a bit more, and they can be refurbed for more sensible money. I got mine done for £300 in 2021. (Same firm charged me £163 to do a pair of 3 Series wheels last month).

I managed to find a set of Style 295s on here from an E89 for my previous Coupe and they only had 5 spokes, although they can be hard to find.

Anyway good luck finding something you like at the right price.

Those 295's look great! I'm definately a 5 spoke fan

I love the split rim 108's, there's a local near me who's had all four of his split, refurbished properly and are running true and looking very good for a fair £400, so maybe still set on those most of all.

Unfortunately this ad's changing to No Longer Wanted for the time being, woke up this morning to needing a full new set of tyres on my 103's which is my budget gone.... 2 punctures both farside, that's Bristol roads for you.. (unless anyone wants to swap for a set of 4 103's with brand new F1's on all four wheels  )

Thanks for your time gents.

That's a real shame. :(

If you weren't set on 18s you could try Style 290s from an E89. They are also a 5 spoke design but come as 8Jx 17 all round.

They'd probably be cheap too. I sold a set with usable run-flats for £160 last year, but it took me 3 attempts! I used to put them on my 3 Series. I've added a photo.
