As the title says, what is the best or correct engine oil to use.
I know the dealer will sell bottles of the stuff (1ltr for top-up?), but what I am really after is the 'spec' and perhaps better alternatives to the dealer supplied oil come service time. Silkolene? Millers?
Thanks in anticipation
John

Re: BEST/CORRECT ENGINE OIL
For the last X number of years BMW recommended Castrol. From January they will recommend Shell.
Bottom line is as long as you use a BMW LL04 approved oil you will be fine for a non ///M Z4.
