Remove scratch

Guys, after some advice please. After parking my car on the road I came out this morning and found a 20" scrach on the rear wing...Nice!! Although it's showing white primer i dont think it looks to deep.

Can someone recommend the best way for a complete amateur to try removing this?

No expert, but if you're down to the primer then it'll more than likely need painting

Pay someone to do it properly. If you can see primer you need paint.

Well i can see white, so i presume that is the primer.

Anyone use QUIXX scratch remover? any good?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the clear top coat can also look white if it's been scraped? U mitt be lucky if u say it not too deep.
If that's the case then a wet sand and polish should get rid of it

if you can feel it with your nail quite clearly you need a professional, anything else is surface lacquer, gently try some brasso on a cloth... gently!!

This could be the case.

T-Cut – or Metallic T-Cut which is milder – could be used on the scratch with a good microfibre cloth, though I have Meguiars Scratch X which is good. Have a good go with that over say 2-3 inches for 10-20 mins and then see if that makes it any better. Most polishes fill in minor scratches, so after washing it down after the T-Cut/Scratch X, get polishing and see how it looks. Good luck

Paint shop trick when assessing damage, very little abrasive or theres T cut, if your worried just phone a few paint places and ask advice, a good one should be sound abount this

Ive had a situation where it looked like a scratch down to the primer, but on second glance its actually the paint of the other car that did it. Buffed off no issues.
Give it a little T-cut then if no better go to the paint shop. Be careful as its easy to make these things look alot worse.
