Gruppe M idiot guide

Post by Eurohooner » Sun Apr 03, 2011 6:20 pm

So, I rate myself as having almost zero knowledge of how cars actually work and go together but due to HM Revenue and Customs messing up I have an unexpected windfall and feel it would be best directed towards a Gruppe M. Could someone give me very clear advice on whether I could buy one off the shelf and get a normal garage to fit it for me of would I need a specialist fitter? Advice on best places to source one would be welcome too. Thanks.

You can fit it yourself to be honest. I got mine from Brystone in Southampton, I actually had them fit it but only as I was there anyway so thought I might as well let them do it!

Should be easy enough to fit yourself. Think of it as a bonding experience with your car. :)

Where is the best place to source one of these - direct from Japan? or are there UK distributors?

Google isn't really helping!

Also are these better than similar, cheaper options (I think AFE do an intake kit)?
