Mark1982, love those wheels. The deep dish really is the dogs. My Z is black so I'd want them in silver.Nice looking rims. ![Thumbs Up ](./images/smilies/smilie_thumbsup.gif)

Re: 19" alloys
had them on about 1 wk i think. they are a good fit, i just stuck the old tyres on from the 108s but ill go for 265/35/18 when they need replacing. the rims are 8.5" wide at front and 9.5" at rear so they can handle wider rubber. also that little bit wider on the rear really looks like it fills the arch in depth wise if you know what i mean? the 108s kind of felt like they "sank" into the arch too much. really adds to the muscle roadster look. rides a tad harder but i think garage put far too much air in (36psi front 35 rear). acceleration seems to have dropped in 3rd only like 5%, maybe due to a little more unsrpung weight down to wider alloys but maybe that could be down to me getting used to the cars performance (iv had it 3 wks now) and my misses dont think its any slower so could just be my mind playing tricks. cheers bigshurv i added a link earlier on to these wheels, get em in silver too
go for the black with chrome lip! easier to keep clean. p.s iv added the matt grill in them pics too ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Re: 19" alloys
after having 19's for over a year now i think i might invest in some lightweight 18's - probably some Oz ultralegras next year.
Coming from 108's i found my VMR's about 2KG heavier with with 265/30/19 rears... which i instantly noticed effected the acceleration and braking.
While i love the look of 19's the ride is also noticeable harder... but still less crashy then with 18" RFT's.

i think the car might handle even better with 18s same size all round (225/40/18) but i think the novelty of having fat rears is the whole roadster idea ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Re: 19" alloys
There's two problems with 265/30/19 on the rear, 1st its a non standard size for the Zed, and such the rolling diameter is greater than designed to be and will actually make it slower. The 2nd, you practically sit over the rear wheel and the increase in footprint manifests more noise.aquazi wrote:after having 19's for over a year now i think i might invest in some lightweight 18's - probably some Oz ultralegras next year.

I found that my 225's all-round was about 2 -3 dB quieter than the 255/30/19, whilst this may not be significant on short journeys, 4 hours on a motorway is way to stressful

Re: 19" alloys
I see these wheels are 8.5 and 9.5" wide as opposed to 8 and 8.5".
I have some nearly new Falken 452, 225 40 and 255 35.
Can these fit safely or do I need to go up a size?

Re: 19" alloys
You can fit the 225's to the 8.5, however there will be absolutely no rim protection, in fact the rim will sit proud of the tyre, I would guess this will be the same for the 255's on the 9.5 just more so. In my humble opinion it looks stupid, kind of boy racer-ish but each to their owntdz840 wrote:I see these wheels are 8.5 and 9.5" wide as opposed to 8 and 8.5".

Re: 19" alloys
Them tyres will fit straight on mate. Them are the sizes I have on in the picture. There isn't much rim protection but there wasn't much when I had the 108s on cos they were kerbed to hell. I park carefully everytime a good foot from the kerb anyway as there's loads of nails and crap hidden in the sides of the road.tdz840 wrote:I see these wheels are 8.5 and 9.5" wide as opposed to 8 and 8.5".

They actually don't look to bad on yours, probably because the wheels are blackmark1982 wrote: Them tyres will fit straight on mate. Them are the sizes I have on in the picture. Re: 19" alloys
I'm interested to know what you are basing this statement on?mark1982 wrote:19s too big and upset handling, performance, road noise
Have you had 19'' wheels fitted to your car?
I've got 19'' wheels fitted and have no issues with any of the above although I did remove the runflats.
I've got 265/30/19s on the rears and the rolling radius is less than 1% greater than the original tyres and I've noticed no change in road noise and in fact without runflats I would say there is less noise.sars wrote:There's two problems with 265/30/19 on the rear, 1st its a non standard size for the Zed, and such the rolling diameter is greater than designed to be and will actually make it slower. I would also be amazed if you could detect any change in performance.

Re: 19" alloys
Just collected research from here and past experience of modding other cars. 19s are too big but that's just my personal opinion. Every1 knows that if u increase unsprung weight it a bad thing not a good thing. No iv never fitted 19s to this car before.Dav the wheel nut wrote:I'm interested to know what you are basing this statement on?mark1982 wrote:19s too big and upset handling, performance, road noise

Re: 19" alloys
The car I test drove had 19" wheels, coming from an Audi A4 cabriolet, the road nose was astonishingly bad and very nearly put me off the car. In th end I decided to keep the standard 17" wheels with 225 all round.mark1982 wrote:Sars are u running 19s or 18s with 225? All round?
However, I have just purchased a set of 18" BBS alloys again shod with 225's. One thing I did notice running 225's on the rear gives better traction, in the wet and dry, than my old 2.5Si shod with MV2's
