Meguires APC

Post by Darren Slone » Fri Mar 02, 2012 11:28 am

Hi all :)

I have just got some of the above All Purpose Cleaner, here's the question, what type of jobs do you use it for?

I know it's suitable for interior cleaning, carpets, trim etc but can I use it on the bodywork, inside wheel arches and engine bay too?

Thanks in advance Darren

Engine bay and wheel arches would be fine. But megiures cleaner that's red ( can't remember the name) will do a better job.

I use mine for all that you have stated above. I wouldn't use it on paintwork. Use quick detailed for paintwork

According to the Red Laser app on my iPhone the cheapest place is Detailed Clean at £29.93 or cleanyourcar.co.uk £29.95 which is where i bought mine from and I can highly recommend.

I should say that is for 3.78 litres (big trade-size bottle). Not sure if they do it in anything smaller.

Good price Darren ! I'll obviously have to do my homework properly next time

A detailing weekend most certainly is on the cards. However I've been getting in some practice - I'm doing a couple of panels at a time at the moment and should have it all done in time for next Sunday. I'm not doing a full correction, just practising with the G220 but pleased with the results! :D

Yes you can use it on body work but it will strip any products you already have applied I.e. wax, sealant etc.
The Megs "red" product you mentioned is Degreaser and yes it's a great product also, use it on engine bays, door shuts etc.
