Craziest Looking Z4/Z4M Exhaust...

Post by IDEASEngineer » Sun Jul 15, 2007 5:50 pm

you gotta check out what Studie Style in Japan has been doing with Zed's...

They have some shots of their new green and orange Z4M Coupes with Motorsport Widebody kits in the new issue of Eurotuner.

Cant seem to get a direct link, but go here -> http://www.studie.jp/

then on the left click the link that says "Studie's Studie"

Then the new page should show various project vehicles, the top link being the E86/New M Coupe....just cycle through the pages, you'll know the exhaust when you see it...

Anyone have any experience with this brand? They are apparently very highly regarded by BMW themselves in Japan and Germany.

Not sure about that... seems a bit of an odd design with the 180degree bend? Would like to hear it though, and see some power runs...

Looks strange, any reason why they've done it like that?

I hope those are Mandrel bends...

The whole wheel/brake setup looks sick.

Even if they are, turning the gases through 180 or 360 degrees should be avodied. Turning is acceleration in physical terms, so uses up some momentum.

Unless it was absolutely necessary, I can't see why they've done this? I've seen similar sorts of setups on mid-engined cars, but there you don't have a lot of space to work with.

A bit more research led me to these findings:

The mufflers are actually made by Saclam - http://www.saclam.com/

The 180deg bent Muffler is actually for the 3.0si...apparently they fitted it to the M but I don't know why.

They have a specific kit for the M's and its 2 regular oval cans with the same tips, one smaller, one large oO Oo .

No idea on US pricing but seems it be similar to the Aqray or Hamann/Hartge range, which means $$$$ unfortunately.

And I too agree, the brakes are awesome as well as the wheels.
