yep, just like I did. I also had a suspect second screen which I also sold to srhutch for the postage money I paid for it, ideal for use during the fitting process so you don't risk damage to the "real" final monitor.

cool... so just to clarify what is the rough cost breakdown of this project? (and how much would I have to pay you to fit mine?) ;)

From memory:

20 gbp for the navigation antenna
75 gbp for the Nav radio
300 gbp for the Navigation Computer
75 - 120 for the screen
50 for the BMW supplied cable harness (plug and play)

Then you need the navigation DVD itself, which can be from "free" to 99 gbp from a dealer.

You need a combined fitting team :D I did the complete installation in 2 hours excluding the screen, which took me about 6. So get srhutch to do the screen in 2 hours :D

I did the screen cutting over 3 nights as I got fed up with it hence the prolonged time

I got a quote from a breaker at £245, just to be on the safe side.

Prices PVR quoted are spot on, with the exception of the Nav Computer generally yes they go for £300+ but I found one advertised on ebay as a Mini Cooper unit for £200 buy it now, very rare find.

PS both BMW and Mini Splashscreens are loaded into the unit, and so will display the correct spashscreen when connected to your Z4.

The hardest thing to find is the headunit, generally the only ones I have seen on ebay are advertised at 499 euros, but I know where you can get one for £75 plus postage.

and top it all off with some nice carbon leather trim. £180 ebay

£300 is for those that want to do the project "soon", not for those that can wait about a year before they start :P

Thats the main reason it took me so long, I was patient and waited for a cheap DVD drive, that along with cutting the hole meant I was in no rush.
