G29 Exhaust Soundtrack

Hello,

I'm new here, thanks for letting me join.

My G29 20i exhaust doesn't sound the best... Every other 20i I've heard sounds amazing with pop and crackles, unfortunately I don't get any... Pretty much every review online regarding the 20i mentions a lovely soundtrack. My Z4 just isn't doing this

I'm driving in sports+ with the gear selector in M/S mode, but still nothing.

My question is, has anyone else had this issue? And does anyone have any advice?

That’s because you’ve purchased the wrong car and should have got an M40i

Just kidding.

Odd that it should sound quite so quiet. Can’t say I’ve read or heard about this online.
Is it worth speaking to your dealer about it and ask if they can check it over.

Hopefully someone with a 20i will be along shortly to provide some further info.

That's odd, my 20i has a pleasant burble and pops a bit when changing down through the gears.

More noticeable with the top down but that hasn't happened much lately!

My top hasn't been down recently either, bring on the warmer weather

its mostly in the low rpms that it does it for my M40i, so i guess you may get more sound out of it in comfort or sport plus but without the m/s mode.

Maybe there is a fault with your ASD active sound design box that generates a lot of your exhaust notes?

Does the 20i have ASD? I thought it was only the 40i?

I can't find anything in idrive for ASD settings, even an on/off. Wouldn’t say my 30i sounds particularly good.

It’s definitely an option in Carly, just not sure what models

Edit: doesn’t say it’s model specific

Never used, or even seen bimmercode, so don’t know if the process is the same for all cars
