E85 transport mode - Bristol

Post by Bristolcot90 » Tue Sep 28, 2021 7:49 pm

Hey all

Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations around Bristol for someone who can clear and hopefully delete transport mode on my E85. Battery went flat and now I can’t seem to use rear window heater, air con or roof. Would prefer to use a good recommendation than the main dealer.

Thanks in advance

Or try Clayton Cars (Bedminster) or Deutsche in Nailsea if you’re on the other side of town ?

It's good to have some recommendations.

Just make sure wherever you go deletes Transport Mode - which is what the supplying dealer was supposed to do!

Rather than disabling it, which is what they obviously did instead. :headbang:

Glad you found somewhere to do it for free, if you hadn't I was going to suggest a visit over the Bridge to me in Newport or a meet up halfway to plug my diagnostics in and clear it. There are a group of us over on zroadster.org who run Zed Sheds where we get together to fettle our cars z3'S AND z4'S, ours is Zed Shed Cymru based around South Wales, usually meet up at my garage as I have a lift in it. Also have run outs and atted car shows as and when. Usual form is member supplies any parts, oil, filters etc and can make a donation for sundries etc which gets spent on restocking and tools when required.
Another Zed Shed, Zed Shed West is run on same lines and is located at Lydney operated by another forum member at his place of work which he has use of on Saturdays. Jobs are limited to ones that can be completed in the day as that is a condition of him being allowed to use the firms building. Always good to drop in there with a bag of doughnuts or other cakes for a tea or coffee and a BMW natter with the others that drop in there.

Hey colb, that’s really interesting to know and I’d love to get involved! Always wanted some local people to go to meets with.

I didn’t manage to get to the garage in the end, life u fortunately got in the way so I still have the transport mode issue. If the offer is still on the table I’d be very much appreciative?

Yes offer still valid, Zed Shed Lydney not operating during January but your welcome to come over to Newport or we could meet up half way at Aust or Magor Services and plug your car in to see if we can clear it. Whats best time for you weekends or during the week?
Just sent you a PM with this message, reply on the PM

Hey Colb. You got your diagnostic tool to clear the code? We were talking about it in some other topic, but if by now you are 100% sure the DT clears the code, the wait for mine will be not so long. :)
Thanks.

Just an update on the capability on the Creator 310+ code reader scanner regarding deletion of the Transport Mode.
It appears in the Body menu on the Creator but when selected it shows the following message 'This function have not develop please send this ID to us 'Oxc322'
Seems at the moment the only way to delete Transport Mode is the use of BMW DIS on a laptop.

I have sent an email to the company with the code, waiting for a reply.
I have updated my software with their latest bin file Version 12, it originall came with Version 11.9 loaded in it. The version 12 upate now shows a Battery Icon in the functions menu page for registering a replacement battery if your car requires this.

Txs Colb. My scanner has not arrived yet, but if you say that it does not run it, that pretty much settles it. I gather that since I will be going to the states, I will get the K-line cable and install DIS in my laptop. I know BMW down here will charge me at least COP1,000,000 just to clear that. Not worth it, with all the info we have already.
Edit. As you already gave me the code, I also sent them the same mail, lying that I already have the scanner and tried to delete the mode. Let's see if and when they respond.

Although it can't do the Transport Mode its very capable for all of the other modules on the car, still worth having it in the toolbox for the engine sensors and the airbag modules. Its so handy being handheld which negates the need to pull out the laptop for the other software.

I was in the same situation. Gave up on cables and inpa and purchased a foxwell 310. Not mega cheap at 110pds but did the job. Transport mode deleted, which became an obsession, and leaves me with a scanner should the need for its use arise again.
