It never really stops...money is replaceable but time is where you can come unstuck. I bought a classic in 2007 that was in excellent condition having already been fully restored but since then I have had it in bits and overhauled everything to a Concours standard which was a bit overkill for a daily driver. In the end I had to buy the Coupe to save the 1800S whilst it was in the best possible condition otherwise I'd be well and truly lost down the rabbit hole. The Z4 hasn't cost me much save for the Wheels and Rubber as I was lucky to find such a mint example. An M would be my ruin but thankfully they're well out of reach financially!
2008 BMW Z4 MSport 3.0 Si Coupe in Stratus Grey with Red New England Extended Leather Upholstery. Purchased 14 December 2019 via the Forum with just 25k miles.

My 3.0Sis weren't expensive to keep either, and yours is a fantastic example.

I had no plans to change, but I hit 60 in 2019, realised time wasn't on my side and ended up finding an MC that was just about in budget so the inevitable happened.

The way I look at is, you only live once, it isn’t a rehearsal. So make the most of life while you can. I had a very close shave a few years ago and it has certainly changed my perspective. If either Angela or myself would like something, if the money is there we go out and get it. Obviously that is within the context of affordability and common sense.👍

That's my POV too.

But while I agree about the context of affordability I may have abandoned common sense.
