My roof is broke!
Nope. i haven't fixed anything. I think the problem was intermittent at first.
I might have misled about its failed state now. The roof is in the closed position now but it doesn't latch. iDrive tells me that. This means the windows won't come up. Also the boot has locked itself. I just want some recommendations on where to take it.

To be honest, it's a question of perspective regarding roof issues. I would say - YES.

My roof is broke!
Well, it is about time I got this fixed. I phoned a specialist Norwich way but they weren't too keen to take it on. So I need to find someone not too far away who has some experience in fixing such issues. Other than it's BMW Norwich but I'm not too keen on them tbh. Any suggestions? I am getting a bit fed up with it now. This is my second e89 and both have had major problems.

Steve, this may be a long shot but try contacting Rossiters in Dersingham. They are UK AC Schnitzer franchise but there is a chap there called Lorcan (know him from another forum) who is a really good chap. They may be able to help but if not may know someone who can?
Worth a phone call, surely?

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I can imagine how bad it feels having a consistent problem and I hope you get it sorted soon. IMHO these cars really need a BMW warranty, or putting aside the money each month to pay for those repairs by BMW (even if you don't particularly like the dealer). I've not really liked any BMW dealer (or any main dealer actually) but at least I know I can take it there and it will be fixed - and it doesnt feel so bad - if I had paid the circa £2k for my active suspension work last year, I would also feel aggrieved at paying my dealer too!Stevo1987 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 1:25 pm Well, it is about time I got this fixed. I have heard loads of good things about a place called “the zed shed” with testimonials about him fixing various unfixable e89 issues. Maybe worth investigating?

Cayman Autos in Hampshire, look them up on the internet. My wife’s focus roof needs sorting and they seem to be the only ones who will do it.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Sounds daft but I reckon it could turn out cheaper.

Nice idea.
But imagine what happens at the airport when I arrive with my toolbox containing a dozen blueboxes and millions of wires? Every airport would be shut down immediately.
Better to drive with my 5-series.
