Just noticed my driving licence has expired!

I was talking to my daughter this evening about applying for her provisional and happened to get the licence out of the old wallet; low and behold my licence ran out in July 2022. :o

I DEFINITELY have not had a reminder from the clowns at DVLA. I don't make a habit of getting my licence out to check stuff on a weekly, or monthly, or even yearly basis so was unaware.

Went online to renew; nope can't do that as apparently I am one of those 'weird' people that doesn't have a valid passport, so computer says NO.

Now got to find a post office and go and queue with the unwashed to do it there, and pay more! I love this Country more each day! :x

And with no licence I won't be able to drive around it either :D

Not sure of the legal, or insurance, implications of driving now. After all it is just a time issue; I have a valid licence, just has expired until I renew it. :?

Now feel my pain as I have to get an original birth certificate (valid for two weeks) from NL and take that to the post office as they won’t accept an EU passport.

Still have to collect my British one once I get that test done
