Not heard much from Rob since his house and garage got flooded out.
Hoping all is well and that the tide has now gone out?

Approaching £200,000 damage to the building, plus contents of around £40k.
Both our cars were totalled as well.

They haven’t lifted a finger yet, the original loss adjuster was taken off the claim as it was to large for her-the senior guy that replaced her didn’t let my assessors know so a communication black hole appeared.
The rent never got paid on our rented cottage so we’ve had to pay it ourselves, seems to be back on track now but still no money/work has appeared.
It’s stressful enough without the muppet show it’s turned into

Concur I hope things are sorted out as quickly as possible Rob, I can't imagine the upset and pain trying to sort the mess out. Main thing is your safe and the material side of it will be put right, not thats any real consolation at the moment.

Thats awful to hear. Makes a mockery of paying a premium fror any kind of ‘protection’. Thoughts are with you and the family, Rob. Hope you manage to successfully navigate the Muppet show soon

Really sad to see this Rob - I feel for you. We flooded in the early hours of Christmas eve 2020 and this is only the four or fifth time I've been back on here since - I'm still to busy or too knackered at the moment.

We were smack in the middle of the covid lockdowns and in the end did all the remedial work ourselves. We had already booked to scaffold the house the following summer to redo a load of woodwork, gutters and chimneys and repaint window frames etc; so had to leave the 'flood work' to do that then get back to decorating again. By the end of 2021 we had all the prep work for a firm to come and fit self closing air bricks and slot in barriers to house; garage and workshop before we decorated some areas and this year we're on flood defences around the garden. With two dogs; six cats and chickens we stayed put in the house so that made it fun! - still it could aways be worse
