Hi,
I have a 2021 G29 Z4 20i
Recently, I have noticed a slight "click" on the steering wheel, usually when the steering wheel goes through the 12:00 position. It's definitely coming from the steering wheel or the area directly behind it, rather than from suspension or steering components, and it seems quite benign, although I will get it checked.....just wondered if anyone else had come across a similar issue? My nearest dealer is a 90 mile round trip, so if it's something simple I can sort myself, that would be great...if not, it'll have to go in....
Cheers

Yes I get the same on my E85 - just when moving away or returning to the 12 oclock position.

I too have it on my e85. It’s like the indicator cancel function, but I’ve ignored it.
For unrelated reasons (fitting paddle shifters), I have had the steering wheel off and replaced the clock spring, so it’s nothing to do with either of those components.

Damn. I noticed it this morning when reversing out of my car park first thing in the morning. Went away. Felt like something catching.

So I’ve noticed this on mine first thing in the morning when I’m reversing out of my drive. It then goes away and doesn’t come back until the following day.
If anyone knows the cause then I will be curious to find out.

So,
After a slightly busy autumn with a family bereavement and a few other things, I finally got this looked at - the car needs a new steering column! Thankfully still under waranty.
Dealer said a part in the column had failled, but is safe to drive.

Since my car has a similar issue but intermittently, did this solve the problem for you? Do you know exactly what part of the steering column failed?Robsterrob wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 7:12 pm So,

Did they do the work and did it fix the problem?Robsterrob wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 7:12 pm So,
