pvr wrote: Tue Sep 05, 2023 1:49 pm I saw the premium graph with a correlation between renewal point and the amount of weeks before you start looking at getting quotes. According to that, it is cheapest at 6 - 8 weeks before renewal. The closer you get, the more expensive.

The other thing is the job title thing
Try getting a quote for more than 30 days away though.

I called Admiral today and got my renewal down by nearly £300 pounds without any effort which has bought the price down to the same as last year. Probably due to removing Beth off a car as she is at Uni this year. Guess I can't complain too much now.

Thats the cost of a decent Rolex that will go up in value.

To think the 3rd year renewal will overtake the initial purchase cost

Don't think he is to be honest, there's plenty of early twenty somethings who think it's reasonable forking out 5k and over for insurance  think the lad is actually lucky to get a quote.

At 20 it is highly unlikely they are earning enough to pay that premium, bank of mum and dad hence why they are not worried.

Bought my first car at 19 which was a 1.2 Toyota Starlet think it cost £2400 which I thought was a fortune at the time and took out a bank loan :) my dream car at the time was either an Opel Manta GTE or a MK1 Fiesta XR2i but couldn't afford the insurance :(

Seems these days if kids pass their driving test their parents buy them a car as a reward
