For a lot less wedge you can get a chap in a van to come to you and do it properly.
Never heard of 'Truetone' so would be a bit wary.

These have been around since the invention of the turbo:

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Very much depends which engine you are trying to map?

What engine are you thinking off?

There example on a N20 powered E89 was less than stellar…
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…

Just remember it will kill your warranty if you have any.

I’m always scared of what long term damage it will do to the engine. Others swear by it.

Remap or tuning box

Post by Cornish » Wed Nov 01, 2023 8:48 pm

Bit late to the topic but I am new and only had my Z for a few weeks. Coming from a Guilia Quad for 18months…..I had to do “something” to the little Z. So trip to Avon Tuning. 308hp and 480nm of torque, I’d argue it’s as fast as the big M upto legal limits. 👍🏻

+1 for Avon Tuning. Having spent the spring and summer months converting my Vivaro C van to a campervan, I took it to Avon Tuning for a Stage 1 remap, which resulted a 60% increase in power and torque. As the conversion only increased the kerb weight of the van by 17% (from 1800kg to 2100kg) it's totally transformed its driveability - and it still averages over 50mpg :)
