Spent last week doing some serious maths and future planning.
Woke this morning to my first day of official retirement! A great feeling. :D
Seen too many friends and family pass too soon and decided to live for the day.
So here I go into a life of holidays and rescuing zeds.
Also plan to start by doing all the long distance paths in Norfolk.

No more juggling dates to fit things in; you want your zed fixed on a weekday, I should be able to help now.

Off to celebrate my 59th in Barbados next week, but I'll be back on the 9th October and the fixing can start.

Go to Barbados in December for our wedding, my 24th visit. Where are you staying?

Enjoy retirement mate.

Sandals as usual.
Got a good returning guests deal (but first time in the Barbados one)
Diving is included and Vall will probably do 20-22. While she's doing that I tuck in to the premium drinks and it makes the room free.

Congrats, definitely a good move, you'll love it.

I recently found out in July two of my former work colleagues had passed away, aged 60 and 54 and its true life can change so quickly so glad I finished work at 58, feel so much better for it.

Into my 5th month now and thoroughly enjoying it. It's a whole new world of doing what the hell you like without that work life drudgery. I met up with my work colleagues for lunch last week and walking into my old large open plan office the first thing I noticed was everyone motionless on their laptops and I just thought God I don't miss this :)

Enjoy.

Tim.

I did a retirement workshop through work and a topic covered was retirement life with your spouse :o

Something your spouse might want to consider

Congratulations on retiring at 59

I don't envy any of you retiring early because I love the job that I do and the people I do it with, and I guess that's the difference. If you wake up every morning and think, I really don't want to go to work today, early retirement is definitely for you.
