Are there any? If so where?

Knew how to do it on my E85
Z4 ‘13 20i Mineral Grey
Z4 '07 2.5Si Montego Blue

Nope no drain holes AFAIK

There are channels either side of the boot when open.

They have drainage holes.

You can remove the plastic trim easily to get access and give them a clean out.

Mud does get inside the sills.
After wash.

Correct. The channels divert water straight into the boot and rear lights. That's why there is a big lump of foam around the hydraulic roof pump...to soak it all up! It's not there for show! :D
