See my topic another build from Belgium
viewtopic.php?t=144082
Could people give me insight in how the z4 is after months years from ownership.
Real life things BMW could done better.
Squaks etc
How is your car holding up after months years of ownership.
If you could do it over, would you buy z4 again?

My car is 4 years old and it's been in my possession for just over 10 months / 4800 miles. Generally it's been pretty faultless. So the issues. I had a tailgate open message when I was parking up last week. Very odd. That was a one off occurrence. When I first got it I had a couple of messages saying the front radar sensor was obscured, but that went away too. The internal boot light has never worked so I just fitted my own LCD motion sensing one which does the job. And that's pretty much it. During the last major service the mechanic said I had a mechanically spot on car.

Would I buy one again ? I was planning on keeping it as a forever car, but if funds allow I will consider changing it for a newer one in its final year run before they stop making them. I still get as much joy out of driving it as when I first got it. It's a great car.

I’ve had 2 G29s both from new. I had the first 4 years and my second just a month ago.

I can’t recall a single issue with either of them, pretty much faultless and an absolute joy to own and drive,

My wife has owned her Z4 (after 2 previous older model Zs) for just over a year and the car has amassed 10k miles in her ownership (and has only 3k on the clock when bought, something to do with those damnble plague years). A lot of those miles have accrued in major excursions (Scandinavia in 2022 followed this year by forays into France (July) and then Germany (September). No great mileage but the car has been pretty faultless. The one niggle has been the stanav which threw a complete wobbly in France and then Germany, where it completely lost where we were. On the first occasion the dealer tested the system and found no fault. It is due to make another appearance.

I think it is the best Z4 she has owned, but she still has a soft spot for the E89.

BMW M2C - gone, replaced with an i4, but its only use is shopping, the Z is our main touring vehicle

Mine is now 3 years and 4 months old and I have had the car for 1 year and 5 months now. And I have already driven 35,000 km with it. And I have to be honest, I don't really want to get out after every time I get in. It drives really well and yes you sometimes hear a creak from the roof, but that is very little. I did receive a new instrumentation and a new battery under warranty, but otherwise no problems at all. Would buy one again in a heartbeat

Mine is just over 3 years old and I have had it for half that.

One problem that crops up now and again (As it did today) when walking away from the car, for some reason the passenger side window either opens slightly or as it did today fully opens as the car locks.

So far I have always noticed but one day I may not :x

Intend to buy another G29 but this time a 6 cylinder. (Subject to STMBO approval)
