Audi A2

Another vote for the A2, well ahead of their time and a forerunner to the likes of the BMW i3 which IMO is another masterpiece of engineering and packaging. I had an i3S for 6 months last year and it was hilarious (no, not the looks), carbon tub, cool suicide rear doors and fast enough to make boys racers look silly! As I remind my wife, great things can come in small packages 🤦🏻‍♂️

Loved my A2. Yes the ride is a bit bumpy compared to others in it’s class but god do I miss owning one.

Same. Would happily chop in our inherited Citroen C1 EGS (Exceptional Gearbox Slowness) for one.

I'm an Audi driver as well as a BMW Z4 owner.
Also have genuine VCDS.
Lad in the Audi group bought an A2, not sure where from.
Got it home and a couple of days later was giving a good valet. In one of the floor compartments he found 2 tightly packed blocks of powder. So he phoned the cops who told him to take it into his house. He replied there was absolutely no chance he was taking that into his house and he insisted the cops send out a drug squad. So later on a couple of cops ambled up to his house. When he showed them the find, they pretty much s**t themselves, and called in the full drug squad.
As it turns out, it was around £1m of heroin.
He got the car back after a few weeks but the drug lords never got their gear.

I advised him to change the reg plate to anything other than what it currently is but I don't think he bothered.

I’ve owned 3 remappped 1.4TDI A2’s - surprisingly good fun cars, with a power to weight ratio similar to a mk1 golf gti but with more torque… had the last one over a decade ago.

Ahead of their time.

Surprisingly practical and economical even if booted everywhere
