SRS and ABS lights should stay on for around six seconds longer than the other dash lights with full ignition/ engine start.
I know this because I need to fit a timer to get around the MOT when I remove all my airbags!

The fool proof way to check if your airbags are working is to drive into a brick wall (or similar) over about 20mph. It is an expensive and apparently quite painful way of testing them though! :D

I hope all you weirdos had a great Xmas BTW!
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

You see your entire life go by whilst that light is on ….
:D We had some very expensive airbag light on a car we used to have

I have same issue since yesterday :headbang:
So I took my car in to get the coolant tank replaced and so wondering if this could have caused it? That was done like two days before.
I have checked obvious things like battery connection and connections under seats. I tried leaving the battery disc for 15mins too.
Whilst looking under the passenger seat I found this strange box. Is it oem? Anyone know what it does?

P.s. I have ordered a proper obd to read the codes

Very unlikely to be connected to your coolant tank change unless some ham-fisted mechanic went mad in the cabin!
I believe the strange box is an occupancy sensor bypass, fitted when non-compatible seats are installed. (I am no expert on this though tbh)

So yes, get the codes and report back. Maybe they have pushed the seats right back and messed up a connection somewhere?

Many thanks Martin
They are definitely the standard se seats...
I don't know what they need to do in the interior when changing coolant tank. Thought they may have disturbed a sensor on the bumper or something. Indy did mention he would dismantle the front to locate the leak. Although, not sure if he ended up doing that...

I shall report back as soon as I manage to read off the fault codes

What??? :?
Take the undertray off and have a nose about! That's it.

I suspect it is more likely to be a coincidence tbh.
Sometimes it can just be a glitch. Depending what code reader you've bought you may be able to make it go away.

It depends whether its a real fault or a glitch. I've used both Autophix 5900 and Autophix 7610 and I'm told the Creator 310+ can.

I got rid of my air bag light that mysteriously came on one day, my wife bought me a Creator 410 for Christmas and it showed up as a low voltage. I used it to clear the light over Christmas and it hasn't come back. Why or how it appeared I haven't a clue as I hadn't done any work on the car. On my wife's focus at service time the mechanic replaced the cabin filter but had not clipped the fuse box back properly causing lots of things to not work, might be something your mechanic has done similar.

My air bag light problem was a loose wire on the battery.
I secured the wire and cleared the code.
No more air bag light.

So I got the Creator 410. I have carried out a test and no fault codes have been found? I carried out clear fault regardless.
Then I thought I would then try removing the fuses listed for the airbags. I think 13 and 45 (I used the fuse card). Each time I turned the ignition with the fuse out. The light remains on. :headbang:

Anybody have any ideas?
