Can anyone tell me where these go and what would be the symptoms of them being faulty? Thanks

They bolt into the body of the dsc/abs module

You’ll be throwing codes indicating pressure switches and will have a combination of yellow warning lights
If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Just done these. Will need a 27mm spanner to go with.

Did you have any codes?

I was literally sat in the car parked up after a drive scanning codes on ista then all of a sudden the traction control light comes on, have got code 5e21
Pressure sensor 2 fault, have had it once before but next day cleared it and it didn't come back, but this this time comes back straight away.

In ista the live data says sensor 2 is 20 bar with the car turned off, sensor 2 is nearest the bulkhead isn't it? Would a deep socket be better for removal?

Yes I did, I can’t remember the code but it was DSC pressure sensor 2. In live data, the two sensors were showing radically different readings (like -1 and 20), whereas on my own car the sensors were showing more or less the same reading close to zero.

Swapping out both sensors with new ones solved the problem. I used one of those plumbers wrenches (mole wrench?) in the end as my adjustable spanner wasn’t quite big enough, but there’s not much room to turn it without fouling the bulkhead or one of the pipes. A deep socket may be the answer, but check for access before you buy.

You will lose some fluid. It will drip out, so have rags handy and get ready to swap in the new sensor quickly. The brakes may need a bleed afterwards.

Same issue I have, sensor 1 is -0.1 bar engine off and sensor 2 20bar ista says it shouldn't be higher than 3 bar I think.

I'm gonna flush the brake fluid soon anyway as its the only fluid in the car that hasn't been changed in my ownership.

Cheers for the help
