Which ceramic coating do you have on yours?

I have Gyeon MOHs and my mate on his Porsche has Modesta which is supposed to be one of the best in coatings and in both of our cases anything other than having a fine layer of dust a simple rinse with snow foam will not get the car completely clean. Speaking to both detailers that did our cars they both say it’s a misconception that some people think that just because you have the car coated means you don’t need to do a contact wash. Hence my comment but if it works for you then that’s good, would be good to know which brand of coating you have though.

Next time I'm getting a car done, I'll ask.

As I said, my method leaves my car in a state I consider clean, of course I could be musconcepted.

Whilst a car can look clean, it doesn't mean it is properly clean, even with a ceramic coating There is a good article here from the ultimate finish website on how to make the most of the ceramic coating https://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/car ... intenance/ as it states the breakdown of the coating is accelerated if you do not maintain it as small particles contaminate the coating and degrade it - it does actually recommend a decent particle clean as although the ceramic might push away clearly visible things like water it wont be 100% effective against all the dirt which is less obvious

Wow! Who knew there was so much science (and expenditure) to cleaning a bloody car? :o

So I'm guessing my Screwfix own brand shampoo and two buckets of warm water is not sufficient? My eyesight ain't as good as it used to be, but they always look really clean to me!
Cleaning cars is like mowing grass...looks good for about a day then you have to do it all over again! I hate mowing grass but love cleaning cars BTW! :)

I actually love cleaning my cars, its very therapeutic
But yes detailing cars is an endless journey of cost and time if you let it

I think if you are going to spend money on a ceramic coating its probably worth spending the money looking after it - otherwise just subscribe to the pond-a-clean system :P

When I see a car in the sun, and I see the spiderweb scratches on the paint from bad washing or especially bad drying practices, the car looks terrible to me.

This is a 350k car in the Porsche showroom, looks nice from this distance.

I only see this though:
