Nespresso Vertuo machine / pods.

Post by N4LLY » Mon Jan 01, 2024 2:57 pm

A few month's ago i purchased a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine.

I came with a variaty pack of coffee pod's. I then started looking for different coffee's to try.
Was then i discovered that Nespresso have a monopoly / patent and there are no 3rd party suppliers :x

They are expensive at Ca. 0.92p ish a POD :o

More research and discovered these. Recycling at the same time, a win, win !

Very much enjoying my current favourite Lavazza coffee's and saving a small fortune. 6 x 250g vacum packs at £ 19.29 delivered.

Any other tip's for for these type of POD's ?

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Normally a Tassimo Americano drinker which is about a fiver for 12 pods although I have a love hate relationship with the pod machine as it will work fine then every so often fail to fully puncture the pod with the coffee granules going everywhere and the water backing up inside the machine, makes a right mess.

Funny seeing Mellow Birds thats what my parents had in the 70s along with Babysham and Dream Topping :)

I’m a coffee drinker, but I’d rather drink tea than instant coffee.

Have trusty old Bosch Tassimo, but thinking about a bean to cup machine… they’re not bloody cheap though

My wife uses an electric coffee bead grinder and then makes her coffee using a cafeteria. Me I'm okay with instant but prefer tea.

Your house must be really posh if you have cafeteria… is it self service or do you employ staff

Not that posh, we have a Michelin star restaurant in the basement! :) It's called "Chez Pond"

We had a Delonghi semi automatic (bit like a DCT) version for the last 7 years…after 3 overhauls and over 2,700 cappuccino’s later it was not making temp so this Christmas we treated ourselves to a full manual job..

It’s got lots of options like variable pre impregnate time, variable grind size, variable dose size and variable main water temp..

Not being used to a manual took a bit of time..

But…

It makes the best coffee we ever tasted by some way..

Not sure what price per cup is..but with the best beans i’s say about 10p-20p…

We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is
