Night Breakers: a correction & an apology

Post by Busterboo » Sat Jan 06, 2024 8:14 am

I wrote about Night Breakers not being as good as Osram claimed. I was wrong. They are. But to appreciate them, I had to move my seat. Let me explain.

Perhaps it's something every E89 owner knows and I didn't, but I hadn't realised quite how low the headlights are and, combined with a low driving seat position, how much this this reduces their efficiency.

The solution? Well, the obvious, of course. To raise my seat as high as it'll go. This puts my eyes as far above the beams as possible, which means that I can now appreciate the Night Breakers' qualities. (Mind you, at £182 a pair from the local BMW independent, they should be good.)

There's one downside, though. Even I, at only 5'10", have to remember to duck when I get out. And back in again ... duh.

Whatever, sorry, Osram. Your bulbs are very good.

p.s. I've come to hate SUVs at night, some with headlights that actually go over the E89, and many with rear lights that look like the Blackpool Illuminations - there are 44-tonne trucks that are safer.

Marcoose ain't no yankee. He is of a generic race which is kept secret (apparently). He just lives in the 'good ole...'
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

True. But I was born, raised and educated in a metric country.

But neither here or there. I can spot a bloke bragging about his height even from across the pound.

Only if you’re 5’10” and still have to sit on phone books to see over the cowling.
