Personalised plates

Post by RAYK47 » Sat Jan 13, 2024 4:23 pm

So I have decided to buy a personal plate for the Z4. I have never had one before as I have always thought it pointless.

So for £250 I have bought Z24 RFH (my initials).

When I get it printed, I was thinking of getting a space after the A so it reads A 24 RFH. Is this legal?

Nope, it's illegal, but I have done similar many times and NEVER had a problem. If it makes you happier, just get two sets made up, one legal and one how you want it. Keep the legal ones in the boot just in case. The Rozzers are less likely to fine you if you can put legals on there and then.

But unless you somehow make the 2 look like a Z no-one will get it anyway?

If the forum helped you, why not help the forum back. Thats the Z4 way!

Agree with Martin. Not worth the aggro of potential fines and points for that plate IMO, but it's your call.

Cheers, I probably won't bother with the space but was just checking legality. I was not intending to alter the 2. I am not bothered if others don't "get it".

Am I going blind, I can’t see where the “A” comes from. Looks like Z24 RFH to me. :?
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Typo Mikey! :)
A24 RFH. No 'Z' was ever used as a prefix or suffix in the UK (except NI where they have a different system).

Think OP mis typed the A as a Z in first part of post "So for £250 I have bought Z24 RFH (my initials)." when it should be A24 RFH . Either that or I am going mad as well as you going blind Mikey :o

Bugger Pondrew got there before me

Nice, just need to move the N across but I suspect that is also not allowed.

Old work colleague had a plate on their Discovery with SP on it, their initials was SB so with some black electrical tape it was alot cheaper.
