i hope you are right. when i described the problem he was concerned that the gearbox was trying to change gear but nothing engaged.

The transmission controller will not function properly without a speed input, mine did the same thing occasionally.

yeah, it seems the people on here were correct all along. I would have given it a go myself but i don't have any experience or a location i can do it (doing it in the road outside was not going to be a great idea). confirmed its the DSC module. Garage is going to send it off for refurb. Wont have the car for a week or two but at least its not too bad.

I don't know of anything yet but i will ask them when i next speak to them (not sure who my garage use). Garage has just called me saying its all done. DSC control unit replaced with a recon, £582 all in.
Will pick that up later and hopefully we are back in action.
