I had a dream…

Post by Marcoose » Sun Jan 28, 2024 12:08 am

Dreams are weird and this one is no different. It went like this.

Somebody here invited me for a track day at Brands Hatch. I’ve accepted it, and drove my Zed to SFO, our local airport. At at the airport, I did like anybody with a car does, checked in, and they put the Zed in the luggage compartment.

I don’t know what happened at Brands Hatch. But it’s my dream, so I’m going to assume I smoked everybody, and that the ghost of Sir Frank Williams offered me a seat. It seems fitting.

The next thing we’re at a pub. There’s a band playing rock. Somehow I have my guitar, probably stowed in the Zed’s boot. So I sit in with the band, and again why not make things up, I totally smashed.

Sadly I don’t remember which of you invited me across. Whoever did, thank you so much. It was a great dream. Nearly as good as the one with the missus and her two girlfriends. (She only has one girlfriend.) And I think it was the first dream with the Zed.

So here’s a ode:

In slumber's grasp, a Z4 forum's call,
Brands Hatch beckons, in dreams' thrall.
Engines roar, as tyres kiss the track,
In the Zed's embrace, no turning back.
Through bends we glide, in symphony's grace,
A dream fulfilled, in this enchanted race.

Did you see anything regarding Eddie Jordan recently? Sounds like you were him but with a zed!
I am guessing the left foot braking pedal cam in quite handy at Brands, at last! :poke:
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

That's a great dream Marcoose, with the bonus of an ode.

The Zed brain power is disappointing.

There’s a massive cock-and-bull story to dog-pile on, but instead it’s an ode that is getting your goat.

Somebody please lift the laughing gas ban. The Brits haven’t been the same since.

Since you insist, here’s something for you to chew on:

Gas ban's spoiling wit's charm.
Brits' humour lose spark, harm.
Giggles fade, glee's flee,
Fun's end, now we plea:
Bring back laughs, repeal's calm.
Humour's fate: sad, alarm.

Oh it’s humour!
Sorry, missed that. Really must watch more US sitcoms to learn how it’s supposed to work.
Maybe if you’d added some canned laughter so we knew which bits were funny?

An American using artificial intelligence to write Verse about Brit’s lacking a sense of Humour…. Oh the irony!
