TYRE SHOPPING

Post by mcbutler » Sun Jan 28, 2024 9:51 pm

Hi all,

Hope you are all well and fit :-)

New tyres due on my 35 and Michelin PS 4S will be fitted.

SHopping around prices vary from over £200 a tyre to as little as £150.

Regarding the latter, has anyone used www.camskill.co.uk for new tyres?

My concerns are that apparently counterfeit tyrea are being seen nowadays, I have emailed Michelin direct for advice, if they reply I will share the info.

If you know of any good deals going plz let me (us all) know

Use Camskill for most of my tyres…they are consistently the best prices on Continentals..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

I’ve just bought 2 rear tyres GY f1 asy 6 on line from national tyres reasonable price and 10% off. Looked at all the other sites but felt safer buying from someone I knew. Black Circles not as cheap at all with not many offers. Asda seem quite cheap with 10% off on some tyres but be careful with the Asda vouchered offers as some complaints re not getting them.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Ive used Camskill a few times, in fact bought 4 MPS4 for my previous E86 from them and had them fitted locally - they had 20% off Michelin at the time so I got a good bargain. Oponeo is another option.

Do search voucher codes as well for tyre websties you never know.

When you get the tyres do check the dates on them, that would be more of a concern than anything being counterfeit.

I've looked at Camskill and they are just over £18.00 cheaper than National's discounted ones. Does this price include fitting?

Ordered my last set of Dunlop's via ASDA tyres and had them delivered to and fitted at my local Just Tyres, price was inclusive of fitting and worked out about the same as Camskill with less hassle

Just to add that I had two Kumho rears from Oponeo in March last year and one came with a year date stamp of 17 on it and the other had 22. Sent the 17 year one back and they didn't have a replacement so got one delivered from Camskill

Yes as above definitely check on tyre ages. Although if you are going for PS5 or CS7 etc they are not likely to be that old
